If I had 1.5 million wind turbines, why would I waste all that green energy separating hydrogen from a source, compressing it and distribuing it? Once again, why not use electric cars?
While you complain about the argument for ethanol being Carbon Neutral being bogus- you completely gloss over the question: From what do you refine the hydrogen from, and how do you deal with the carbon output from your procedure?
If you want to sequester the carbon, you are going to need even more windmills to provide green energy to sequester the carbon. And its certainly arguable that we can sequester carbon permenantly and in an environmentally friendly fashion. Already you are off by 10% on your windmill count just for compression over-head alone!
Yes, yes, I understand- the alternative energy can come from Tidal, nuclear, thermal and etc. Fine- but all you end up doing is just bolstering the argument for developing Electric cars and transportation.
Until you can answer 'why hydrogen, and why not just use electric', you have no case whatsoever. You want to burn hydrogen simply because you can. I grant that you can, and I grant that with a hurculean effort you can build the infrastructure and sequester the byproduct CO2. All of this is possible. However, many more PRACTICAL solutions exist. And this is why your argument boils down to a non-starter.
