Home? Mass vs local...

Zubrin is looking at hydrogen like the old computer industry looked at mainframes. The idea everyone would have a computer in their home, instead of only a few large firms controlling it was beyond their understanding. SO will the impact of home fuel production :-)

Did you notice that you argued both sides of the equation there? Your "mainframe" example was about the virtue of distributed application - computing by local resource @ desktop, but your hydrogen argument seems so be opposing this and proposing the "local solution".

I can see that there is a general (but weak) "old" vs "new" argument here, but the basic energy equations are against you.

To be frank IF there were a cheap natural source of hydrogen gas in today's environment, the "Best" way to use it would be to generate synthetic gasoline for the automotive stock we already have, on the roads today. This would utilise the existing infradtructure (supply chain) and heritage engineering (the large number of gasoline motors and filling stations, supply tucks, refineries etc.)

What did you say you credentials were as an "Expert"?
