Another point in my favor

Half the gains in fuel economy of hybrid cars comes from weight reduction, the other half from a more efficient powerplant. Bet you didn't know that. Most people don't, and it makes hybrid cars look better than they really are. So you see, weight reduction would help to sell any alternative fuel vehicle.

Ethanol vehicles have fewer technical challenges.
