* Iraq had ties with international terrorism groups (that's plural, okay?).
Yes, they did: America. The CIA is the greatest supporter of terrorist groups the world has ever seen. The Al-quida? Trained by us. Hussein's Republican Guard? Trained by us. So, this statement is correct, but you have your government to thank for it.
* Iraq was a proponent for the removal, by any means, of Western affiliation in the Middle East, which included Israel and NATO member Turkey.
Yes, they talked big. But, as you saw in the conflict and from Gulf War I, the little guys just didn't have any means to back up what they were saying. But someday they may so we have a god given right to go in and kill their civilians and leave their country in chaos? Not so much.
* Iraq continued to assert that the state of Kuwait was still considered their 19th province, as had been claimed by former Premier Kassem (assassinated by the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party in 1963 [I guess they agreed with some of his policies]).
That would be correct. Before WWI, Kuwait was in fact a province of Iraq. In ages past, the area that is Kuwait has been under the rule of Iraq. It's because a bunch of white guys thousands of miles way happened to draw a line on a map that Kuwait ever became independant of Iraq.
* Iraq was a proponent for the use of WMD, as demonstrated in Hussein's "recent" history.
Which, again, were supplied by the United States. Note that he did not use WMD in either the first Gulf war or the more recent one.
* Iraq was a monetary supporter for terrorist acts against the state of Israel.
I'd chalk that one up to Bush propaganda. Iraq had it's own trouble.
* Iraq had the very real potential of supplying its terror affiliates with WMD for use against any and all Western countries.
You mean the WMD that don't exist? "Here, take this nothing and go over there and blow up nothing with it." Yeah... that makes sense.
* Iraq opposed the UN sanctions, at every turn.
So would you. We were denying them basic human rights.
* Iraq opposed the US sanctions, with missile launches at unarmed surveillance aircraft.
And they got slapped around for it by Clinton.
* Iraq continued to threaten Kuwait, Israel, and Turkey, calling upon Ba'athists and Muslims the world over to unite in deadly battle against the US, up to the date of the US attack.
And, if you'd actually read what I was saying, this is the greatest blunder of the Bush administration. For Iraq to ask for an ALLIANCE between arabs and muslims is a horrific potential for disaster.
* Taking the homeland away from al-Qai’da
I have no idea what you mean here. The al-Qaida never had our homeland. I've never seen an occupying force come strutting through here.
* Monitoring the activities of questionable Middle East visitors
Is mostly a waste of time and money as the Bush administration's definition of "questionable" is so broad... I'm so glad my tax dollars are going to watching Omar the table shim salesman.
* Taking down a supplier and trainer of terrorists
That should read, "Telling the CIA to stop giving money to terrorist groups."
* Local area emergency reaction drills
Are useless. They reminded me of the 50's movies they showed in classrooms to warn kids how to cope with nuclear explosions. "duck and cover". The only real effect they had was to make people more paranoid.
* Closing frontiers nations bordering on terror supporting nations
Ah, more military occupations. You're really up for having America rule the world, aren't you?
* Stepped-up security measures
Do you have any idea what that phrase means? It's a buzz phrase and little more.
* Taking the War on Terrorism to the source
Okay, now you're just smoking crack. We have no idea where the source on terror is. If we did, we'd have Osama dead or in custody.... or were you referring to the CIA?
* Coalition arrests of suspected terrorists around the world
Were mostly just show and tell for the masses to make the folks at home feel like their government is actually doing something.
* Working with Yemen's government to prevent terrorists from reassembling there
Again, I doubt this is anything more than the government taking a small group of dissidents and parading them as terrorists.
* Forcing the world to choose between states that support terror and states that
Is the same tactic Hitler used in WWII.
* The fact that U.S. soldiers "understand the mission, understand why they are in Iraq and they understand the greater mission in which the war in Iraq is just one part," does nothing against international terrorism (quote is from Joint Chiefs Chairman Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, at the Pentagon, Aug. 5, 2003). Oh, you’ll get the occasional whiner out there, but it’s to be expected, and the media likes to hunt for them.
The troops there are fucking pissed. Maybe you haven't seen the scoreboard lately, but it's a little something like this: We kicked the crap out of Saddam's forces. We never found Saddam. We still can't find his lackeys. The country is in chaos because Bush is a meat head who had no idea what he was doing. The troops want to come home and could give two tugs of a dead rat's cock what their so-called mission is... as they see it now, it's to wait around, watch looting happen, and try not to get blown up by rebels.
* Published increases in national defense spending does nothing against
Yeah, cause we needed that. Let me let you in on a little secret. We spend about 500 million every year on "defense" (which should be called offense). The rest of the world's nations COMBINED spend about 500 million. We have more weapons than we know what to do with. The answer was never increase defense spending.
* Being firm, strong and diligent against terrorists the world over does nothing
Way to bark on command! Good boy! Good lap dog... go find your master now... go on... go wag your tail for the commander and chief.
>>>Sorry. Didn’t hear Bush & Co. calling for “the Iraqi people to be strong against us†(I believe the actual call was for a holy jihad against the Wester Coalition Forces, and the United States of America in particular [I.e., kill ‘em all and let Allah sort ‘em out]). You have a different report that sources the White House for that?<<<
Retard, do you not remember the tape of Osama bin Laden calling for the Iraqi people to be strong against us? THE FACT THAT TAPE EXISTS is a major failing of the Bush administration to defend us from possible threats. Use your brain a little next time.
