re: the Burn Unit

First:
VX kills in minutes. Third degree deep tissue burns take an excruciatingly long time to kill. And if you live, the pain is worse. The scarring, for those who live, is both physical and psychological. One of my college roommates suffered third degree burns over 20% of her body due to an accident involving a petroleum product; I learned about burn injuries from her.

Horrible pain and death in a few minutes vs. horrible pain and death in days or weeks, or horrible pain for months accompanied by life-long souvenirs: you decide. The only thing "positive" one can say about burn injuries caused by products like napalm is that they are not always fatal. One has the luxury of time to wish one were dead.

To defend the use of napalm makes no sense. It's like defending mass burning at the stake.

Second:
Why on Earth do we need tons of VX? Is there some need to gas another nation, or do we just keep it because we can?
