You missed the main point and dodged others

The point is sane folks realize a balanced government has limitations in its ability to respond to local emergencies.

The second point is local preparation would have saved many casualties caused by Katrina.

The third point is FEMA doesn't have the resources to evacuate a large city on its own and can't be held accountable for casualties incurred because of poor local emergency planning.

The fourth point is demanding FEMA be prepared to helicopter drop within hours of a disaster, supply personnel to remove dead bodies, provide food and water for millions and have facilities to more sanitarily house hundreds of thousands of evacuees will require a whole new type of FEMA swallowing a whole lot more dollars.

The fifth point is that those on the left who demanded that Bush respond sooner have no understanding of Federal/State power division and fail to see they are reall asking for an abridgement of states rights.

The sixth point, the one you managed to notice, is that the left is acting like spoiled children demanding investigations and firings for folks at FEMA while the incompetent local leaders who have the most culpability are doing radio interviews and talking about how they are the victims of the Federal government.

;-)

PS
The mirror principle has stuck with folks. I'm glad. It's quite possible I have to look at my own feelings and emotions inn regards to the issue. Perhaps, just like the left, I expect too much from other folks, when expecting such is completely unrealistic.

Thanks for reminding me. I'm by no means perfect and we are often blind to those things which exist within ourselves.
