re: The Walk Through.
The NO Convention center was announced as a site for refuge and evacuation prior to the storm. The storm made landfall on the 29th. So there have been refugees there for 72 hours at the very least
More crap. You know what? We could do this all day.
I have seen nothing at all that indicated the convention center was picked out as a pre-planned refuge. In fact, if you look up the New Orleans disaster plan (no longer online, apparently. Wonder why), neither was the Superdome. There were no plans to use the convention center prior to the hurricane. From this August 30th news story:
City officials said they might open the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center as a temporary refuge to shelter an estimated 50,000 people made homeless by the storm.
So, not only were there no prior plans, but when this story was written, there weren't even any people there yet.
As to when the media started reporting on it: Using Google News I have pulled up 357 documents published between August 29th and August 30th that contain the phrase "Convention Center" and Katrina.
Others are invited to run your same search: "convention center" and "Katrina" on Google News for August 29th and 30th, and then actually look at the abstracts of the news articles. I recommend sorting by date, so that you get the most recent articles first.
In fact, just for fun, throw in August 31st. Keep reading.
FWIW, Nexis records don't "expire." And it costs money to use.
As for your opinion of "bloggers," which, face it, is pretty much what we do here, it must be great to assume you're so much smarter than everyone else. I don't.
