They prepared for nothing and seemed to believe the levees wouldn't fail- or at least thats what Bush tells us.

The locals are the best people to scream for help to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. What government could ignore that cry?. It is not the nature of the Fed to grab control of a situation from locals unless their help is demanded or at least requested.

Hopefully, that all changes for the better going forward.

I believe that response would have been no better from a Kerry administration. That is the bottom line.
