Not that I think you are a Bush basher first and foremost like some around here.
Where would YOU put it?
Storage tanks, drums, anything that could be drained or hand pumped from clean-out accesses which are above ground.
The Superdome was equipped to last 3 days.
They didn't get releif until after 3 days.
But there were more people than expected as many came escaping the floods.
The decision was made to save the people still in there flooded houses instead of evacuating people from the centers when rescue personal first arrived.
It's not like the National Guard waited three days to head out, they rolled immediately but access took them longer because of the floods.
I agree, all levels didn't perform to there fullest ability. The point I'm trying to make is the local government made it worse for all involved than it should have been.

- Context
- Agreed, start to finish
- go ahead, blame Bush.
- For non-response by an agency administered by the Executive branch of which he is the head? Sure!
- go ahead, blame Bush.
- Levee failure
- This is silly
- what preparation would have prevented the levy failure?

- for every thread, spin,spin,spin
- Lets assume everyone knew the levy was going to fail 60-70 hours before Katrina.
- Thats sort of the point- they *should* have known the levees were going to fail 36-48 hours out, and ended up doing nothing
