Bush "showing up" as in ordering people to get off their keisters and send response teams in is different from Bush showing up in person at a disaster site looking for a photo-op and requiring all the security arrangements necessary for a Presidential visit.
There are plenty of places where Democrats have been in charge that are efficiently run and not corrupt. That Louisiana is not one of them says more about Louisiana than it does about the Democratic Party, but someone who hates Democrats because they are Democrats wouldn't understand that too well. You can work on it, though.
On the other hand, I am not impressed by the Patronage Party currently being headed by Mr. Bush. He ought to cut it out. This isn't even about giving members of his own party jobs and contracts, which I understand. It's about giving his friends jobs and contracts. I'm sure, if he had tried, he could have found a Republican who knew a lot and cared a lot about emergency management to head FEMA, but nooooooo....
Mr. Clinton's impeachment was about him lying under oath when his sex life was the subject of an investigation instigated by his partisan Republican enemies. He lied. This is a fact. After trying and failing for years to find something with real legal ramifications to go after Clinton with, Ken Starr finally could only come up with fornication. This is also a fact. Mr. Clinton's personal life should not have been investigated in this manner. The preschool population of the country learned about oral sex because the Republicans were so desperate to bring down Bill Clinton that they literally made a Federal case of his sex life. This is the whole truth, and not the edited version that people who hate Clinton prefer to remember.

- One thing you said, in all of that glop, was meaningful
- You missed the main point and dodged others
- Which was easy, because there was no main point, nor any others
- Not Federal Troops
- Gosh, Don't make me pull a Brosz on you. ;-)

- Context
- Agreed, start to finish
- go ahead, blame Bush.
- For non-response by an agency administered by the Executive branch of which he is the head? Sure!
- go ahead, blame Bush.
- Levee failure
- This is silly
- what preparation would have prevented the levy failure?

- for every thread, spin,spin,spin
- Lets assume everyone knew the levy was going to fail 60-70 hours before Katrina.
- Thats sort of the point- they *should* have known the levees were going to fail 36-48 hours out, and ended up doing nothing
