This argument of yours makes no sense

Would New Orleans or any of the victims have been better off either way?

No.

Note that 'lie' is your word, not mine.

Well, considering there was a lack of truthful statemts days after the fact of course means that little would have been different.

However, call me odd, but when the executive in chief says things that make him sound completely uninformed and clueless, if not dishonest, then it makes me doubt that we are getting the best FEMA resonse we can get-- which remember, is the argument at hand (that FEMA/DHS and the Executive Branch did 'everything they could have done').

But I guess thats just me.

I mean, if the coach for the NE Patriots says, after a loss to the Steelers, in a post game interview: "Nobody actually thought they might RUN the ball", then you might think he was incompetent, and that incomptetence had something to do with his poor performance?

But I guess I'm just silly.

the fact is every government agency told people to leave...Just like they are telling people to leave now.

Yet some morons will stay.

And yet many many thousands had no transportation. You seem to somehow believe that people can up and walk out of a 500-mile-accross storm that will pound an area of several thousands of square miles, with no resources, no protection from the elements, and nowhere to walk to. This notion is beyond stupid- its nonsense, its conceited fantasy, its blaming the victim.

Picture this. You are a poor SOB on bourbon street with 3 kids and no spouse. You can barely afford rent, bills and food with your 2 minimum wage jobs, so you have no reserve food or water except what you have in the fridge. The storm is 24 hours out and the fine people in office tell you 'see ya, sucker! time to go!'. Your neighbor down the block had a car, but he took care of his own naturally and vamoosed.

Now, tell me Scott, what the hell are you going to do? With your solid Republican Superiority over those 'Stupid People' who are going to batten down the hatches and do what they can.

Okay, your going to walk out. Now, over the next 36 hours several hundred miles in every direction is going to get nailed with 50-60 mile per hour winds, several feet of rain, flooding, and flying debries. Nobody has told you where shelters are BEYOND THE BOUNBDARIES OF NO that you can go to. The only places you know about are the stadium or the convention center or your house.

What, you going to walk 100 miles and rent a hotel room?

Now, with 3 kids, no food, no car, no public transportation, no trains, no busses and a 500 mile accross storm breathing down your neck- just where the hell are you going to go?

You are going to go to the stadium, or the convention center, or hunker down and pray for the lives of your family.

Your conceit is complete, and completely disgusting.

"Why? What can be done to force them out? Should they be forced out even if it deprives them of their freedom or their innocent child's freedom???"

Many were dying for a way out, and many did die. Sure- there were some idiots that would have staid no matter what, but those are not the majority.
