Sure, not all critiques of our leadership and government are escape mechanisms. Look closely at the attitude, volume and demeanor of the individual and you will see the difference.
Balance is the observable difference.
Cindy Sheehan is involved in an escape mechanism. Of folks here a number qualify as being engaged in an escape mechanism. Bowser, Lindy, Donald, Raoul, Eric et al, present an imbalanced extremism in their postings about Bush and the war.
You, Publius, RL, etcetera appear more balanced on the subject. It's not your crusade. You have other crusades.
When all is said and done, we are not responsible for Bush's actions or Bin Laden's actions. We will not sew the feedback that the soldier incurs or the insurgent. If we support an unjust war we will reap the feedback that incurs. If we fail to support freedom for others we will reap that feedback.
Each individual carries their own unique cross to Calgary. Everyone has their own escape mechanisms which they have to recognize and work to alleviate.
I do.
You do.
Everyone does.
Discounting everything (in the painfully long missive;-) I wrote with a gesture of the hand may feel good, but the bottomline is for many anti-Bush folks it's all too true.
