Oppression

really hasn't happened yet but, because of the huge disparity between believers and non-believers, the potential certainly exists more that oppression can occur when one group so outnumbers the other.

What keeps the abuse from not going to that stage is standing up to the trend early and loudly when one sees the stirrings of the dehumanizing begin.

To declare the majority power to have some moral or societal advantage over the minority group is that first step.

And speaking about declarations of oppression why the outcry from the religious right about the "assault on Christmas"? Talk about whining. The rest of us have this birth of Jesus crap dumped on us once a year bonded to this debilitating commercialism that accompanies it and the Christians are being discriminated against?

Sorry if I have to dump on you but I took a day off yesterday to accompany my 14 year old son as his jazz band at his very public school went around to elementary schools doing concerts and had to listen to the school choir, led by a very pushy and arrogant director, sing song after song about how happy we were that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. Now I would've tolerated a Christian song within the list as a historical perspective for children but the overwhelming majority were religious hymns.

Are you trying to tell us something here? Come on out. We're a very inclusive bunch.
