The liberal courts?

Are you really saying that people who receive unfair treatment ought to just sit down and shut up?

The reason the courts ruled against religious displays paid for by public money or compulsory religious rituals in public institutions is because these things were challenged in court. Usually, the challengers were non-Christians because Christians have been the beneficiaries of religious favoritism.

The abortion issue has to do with women controlling all aspects of their own personal biology, and with the belief in the soul. Some people's belief in the soul should not trump other people's right to control their own personal bodies, according to the law. We have a right to be secure in our persons. That's in the Fourth Amendment.

To say the courts caused Christian activism because they upheld the Constitutional separation of church and state in the First Amendment is like saying the courts caused any one of a number of public shootings because they have upheld the right to bear arms in the Second, or that they have caused unwanted pregnancies because they have upheld a woman's right to seek an abortion. People behave the way they behave.

The courts interpret the law, and only when they are asked to do so. If Christians don't like the law, perhaps what they really want is to amend the Constitution to remove the anti-establishment clause. That discussion would be entertaining to listen to: if we're going to have an established religion, the many denominations will have to agree on which one gets the honor.
