What unadulterated bullshit. The whole notion of a religion involves faith in something unprovable by conventional methods.
Atheists and agnostics are only politically active these days because of statements like Romney's and this bizarre need for Christians in America to impose their culture upon all of us. From my standpoint, it all stinks of major insecurity, the knowledge that the beliefs of God-based faith are so shaky and based on illogical magic, that the only way to keep it going in an evolvingly intellectual society is to force feed it to the public and try to scare people with afterlife horror tales.
Every time some non-believer stands up for his place in our country after being dissed by some bonehead like this guy, the Christians come out of the woodwork like some army of Crusaders acting as if the lions were unleashed on them.
Excuse me if I show little sympathy for a group in a country that claims a large majority of its citizens, enjoy tax advantages non-believers aren't worthy of, and seem to be the major impetus for keeping our world overpopulated and undereducated.
