re: Raoul has a point.

"It's a matter of burden of proof. We've gone over this point a lot with the anomalists and others over the years.

It's not a matter of faith to not believe in leprechauns (not that I'm trying to draw an equivalence here between God and a leprechaun*, just picking an example out of my hat)."

Of course it's a matter of faith to not believe in leprechauns.
Now, I have never heard of a group of people who do not believe in leprechauns, but if there was, it would be some kind of religion.
Now, if someone wants to prove that leprechauns are hanging around somewhere and I could see them or hear them- in other words it's a scientific fact that leprechauns exists, then I would require normal standards of Science to be applied to this claim.
So, for example I have no problem with people who believe that an advanced alien civilization is on Mars, I only object if someone says they have evidence that proves it [and of course they never do] and I don't like these people in general because they are pretty stupid, and extremely arrogant, to think only they are clever enough to know this.
The faith in UFO's, leprechauns. global warming, or whatever, does not bother me one bit. In fact I generally enjoy it when some people at least put on a show of believing in leprechauns.

And since Raoul has no scientific basis for his faith in the non-existence of God, I have no problem with his belief, as long as he doesn't claim false things, like it's a belief based on science or that most scientist hold his faith.
