No, the original thread was not useless. When someone is offended they deserve the right to vent. If I had felt among the offended I would have been angry and I might have been ugly about it but I would not expect or require an apology or explanation. He took his shot I took mine, It's over, we need not speak of it publicly again. If it still sticks in anyone's craw it should be discussed privately.
I once wondered why you participated infrequently and was even somewhat irritated by that infrequency. I understand it better now.
