I've accepted several times Robert's claim that he did not intend to speak as moderator and admitted that my initial reaction/statments along those lines were incorrect. That does not absolve Robert of making comments easily misinterpreted as he himself seems to admit on this very thread. Put up or shutup is fine if you are speaking personally, but not if you are moderator even though both are attempts to stifle anothers free speech. As a personal comment it can be construed simply as a challenge and most often will be. As a moderator's comment it can easily be construed as a threat to have your post deleted or in the extreme banishment from the board. Robert's intent was OK, the impression he gave was not. Is that beyond your comprehension?

It's not OK to drive people off this board through the appearence of moderator abuse even if none was intended. A good moderator would admit the possibility of misunderstanding and seek to prevent such a misunderstanding in the future. I've listed one very simple option to do that in my response to MA above.
