re: Trust is an interesting question

Let review:
I said: "Bush strength is that has high favorable rating in trustability and telling the truth, it is because this fact as shown in the polls, that Dems try to attack this aspect."

Your source says: "Asked if they consider Bush honest and straightforward, 41 percent said yes, 45 percent no. It was 50-36 in January. "That is a net loss of 9 points,"

If 41 percent people would characterize Bush as honest and straightforward. That's still pretty damn good. I like to see that poll question given about Clinton [especially after getting busted for lying about Monica]. Or even Reagan at the best part of his term. In fact I would like to see a this poll asked of any president in US history, I wonder how George Washington's result would been.
My point is, if you are a bit slow to understand, this is pretty high standard.
Polls only have value as comparitive tool and they need to be an apple to apple comparison. But let's assume the poll showing the 9 point drop is accurate apple to apple comparison- same demographic and same question [even this is a lot to ask, considering how polls are as generally misused by the press]. If true it shows that the press, first is focused on this particular aspect and apparently have been quite successfully in lowering it by 9 points. But if it lowered 9 points then remember Bush was at 50 %. I think if some in the press thinks they can swing the vote by 10-15 points [questionable, yes] they certainly believe they are capable can lower public opinion as far as whether the public has some doubts in whether Bush is honest and straightforward.

Now, as far as trust the same article says:
"Nevertheless, the president continues to benefit from resilient support for the U.S. presence in Iraq even after two years of insurgent attacks. By 57% to 42%, Americans say it is important to maintain the nation's military and economic commitment to Iraq until it can govern and control itself. And by 61% to 34%, they agree with Mr. Bush's assertion, which he recently reiterated in a nationally televised speech, that the war in Iraq is part of the broader war against terrorism."

This indicate to me a high level of trust, despite MSM attempt to distort this war.
