re: OK It Is _A_ Conservative Position

"The irresponsible shrieks of "treason!" are emitted only by conservatives, and by only some of them. There's no contradiction there, you're just trying to throw up an obfuscatory barrage of chaff.

To try once again to bring you back to the point: You and Gary and gbaikie are out there all alone. You claim to represent a mainstream conservative view, but I still don't see conservatives rallying to your cause. "

Let's stop claiming that Gary shrieked "treason" or even that Gary said anyone had commited treason. What Gary actually said was: preaching treason. If I say you are preaching murder, I'm I saying you have commited murder? Or that I'm "shrieking" murder, murder.
Another example usage of normal english: If I say you are preaching football, does this mean I'm suggesting that you playing football? You were a football player or any other kind nonsense you can imagine?

The one who actually shrieked treason, was Robert Shephard in reply to a post in which Gary was mostly discussing Iran and a certain Iranian student.

Finally this whole topic has nothing to do with a conservative position or rallying to some cause. What it is, is Robert demanding an explanation for something that Gary said.
I've tried to explain it, Mark has also put his two cents in, and Gary hasn't replied {or anywhere in HabitableZone, I believe}

One strange impression I get, is that some people seem to think that treason is not possible unless it capable of being prosecuted under US Laws- though I suppose they would be willing extend it to other countries laws. Which also suggests that it is the laws themselves, that are actually "creating" the treason, and if you happen change laws in a certain way then it's would be possible to bring an end to all treason.
Strange stuff.
