Sort of A good Point

I have not specifically named names and called people out true. But I have most certainly in detail over and over explained the behavior which I believe may exist in the habitablezone which qualifies as helping to incite terrorism in something other than the dupe mode. It is knowingly spreading lies that match terrorist propaganda. I've never called anyone out on the issue because I don't know for sure that's what they are doing. They could all be dupes like I'm sure Lindy is.

I believe the knowing spreading of terrorist lies applies to about 1 to 6 people in the zone because based on other posts I believe they are too intelligent to really believe the bunk they are spouting. If my certainty was higher I would call them out and have no problem believing Gary's was. Remember I didn't start this topic, I'm simply defending someone else's right to do so as a reasonable opinion. My approach with my current level of certainty (50 to 70% depending on individual) was to challenge the lies and point out that those lies help incite terrorism. I have pretty much given up on that though as everyone seems 100% dug in on one side or the other and I don't have a good way to ferrit out the dupes from the liars.

Do I think Gary should have risen to the challenge and named names? I would have if I'd made his comment, but then I have a far different personality type than Gary even if we hold very similar views on most issues. On the other hand I avoided CE prior to 911 because I knew my vociferous independent political views would piss off almost everyone on one topic or another and result in a lot of battles like this which I thought would detract from discussions on space and leave me with very few "friends" here. Unfortunately dealing with terrorism has displaced space as my number one concern. Still socially aware enough though not to accuse someone specifically of treason without damn near certainty.

Mark
