the press, first is focused on this particular aspect and apparently have been quite successfully in lowering it by 9 points.

Oh c'mon, do you really think that the press is to blame for Bush's falling approval ratings? What's the explanation when the poll numbers go up? One minute you're maintaining that polls can't be trusted, then in the next paragraph you're celebrating a poll showing good numbers for Bush. Can you see the contradiction?

Take your thesis to its ultimate conclusion: All polls are meaningless because either A) the numbers are directly manipulated by "The Press"; or B) the numbers are accurate but "The Press" has manipulated the attitudes of people. So then what does anything else in your post matter? Bush's approval rating, support for the war, historical polls about Clinton and other Presidents...all bullshit, if you're to be believed. Why bother? How do you find the will to get up in the morning?

Do you realize how thoroughly you've been snowed by the Right's propaganda machine? The endless drumbeat through the years about media bias was designed to make you trust only one source of information: The Right's propaganda machine itself. Reality is, for you and the rest of the Right, only what they say it is. They've played a very ugly trick on you, Geoff, and I wish you could see it.
