You're not the only one
I guess it's proven I'm easily confused when it comes to understanding the moderator rules here.
We're making it up as we go, and always will. I want to keep rules to a minimum in order to allow moderators to deal with people as individuals. That's what leads to the recurring charge of "inconsistency!", but oh well...I don't consider consistency the highest of virtues. I'd rather be consistent at a higher level--consistently taking into account the needs and individual quirks of people. The outcome might look inconsistent, but it arises from a consistent philosophy, applied to inconsistent people.
To bring it home, you must've noticed by now that I approach stubborn people with stubbornness, while I bend over backward to accommodate other people who put the interests of the community first. You're right that you're getting special treatment...the special treatment you asked for and that's uniquely appropriate to you. I'll be a different person if you will.
