Funny. Are you sure you're not a frustrated comic?
I think the fact that some of us have been here for years, or have been posting since 1997 or 1998, that we were caught off guard by the Iraq invasion, so we continued to be ourselves. The raw deal was captured here and we had our own personal battles. That war helped to define us, but it also polarized us as well. What you are seeing is the end result of that morphing.
This place CAN be therapeutic, and gives us a place for self expression and introspection. I often think of something someone's said a day or two later, or spend that much time thinking of a rebuttal.
All in all, harmless enough, like I said it's a form of social inter-action with a group of intellectuals that doesn't require a classroom or designated driver to be involved in. No fists involved either.
BTW, there IS no moderation of the Flame Board.
It's almost gotten to be a joke around here. If you've been following this thread, you can see how serious opinions have turned now to banter and humor after we've gotten all that angst out of our systems.
Two years from now the Flame Board may have to give way to the Love Board......;~)
