re: 33% 33% 33%

"I found this discussion on the issue, an op-ed poll from the Puerto Rico Herald, rather informative."

A newspaper which is vaguely intelligent- sounds like threat to the establishment.

Shows a online poll of 58% favoring a state of US- yes I know online polls aren't acccurate. I think it would be better if a higher percentage favor becoming a state- but if there is +50% that's a good start.

"Puerto Rico has one of the most dynamic economies in the Caribbean region. A diverse industrial sector has far surpassed agriculture as the primary locus of economic activity and income. Encouraged by duty-free access to the US and by tax incentives, US firms have invested heavily in Puerto Rico since the 1950s. US minimum wage laws apply."

Becoming a US state should be part of some comprehensive platform- rather than a sole issue. For instance, perhaps, and only perhaps it could have something connected to generating improved condition for a greater number islands in the Caribbean. Whatever is part of platform it should seek to emphasis Puerto Rico strength and add to it. In general I don't see how bilingualism is good one to focus on.
