Iraq was therefore no threat to the world before the US invaded it.

Any country can ridicule and scoff at international law. But morality has been rewarded as it doesn't pay off to lie about why go to war, start a war, occupy a country and loose allies.
It's so amusing to hear about the oil for food scandal justifying the war.
It's like justifying death penalty for theft. Totally out of proportion.
