Language

The language in which a nation converses is always important. It touches everything. Business, education, law, family life, community organizations...everything.

It's also the flashpoint for people who otherwise would not have a political agenda. To require me to change my language in my everyday life is an assault on my culture, one which has been used many times to deprive a subject people of its native identity.

To require change of people who have moved to a new country is reasonable. They moved. To require it of people who have stayed in the same place invites combat of all kinds.

As a question, it will have to come near the top of the list. Otherwise, how do we know what the vocabulary will be for the rest of the questions, n'est-ce pas?
