And your distortions of the truth and the plain facts hitting you in the face are just that - out and out lies.
Everyone that disagrees with you is a liberal. Well, if that means being anything but you, I'll gladly accept the label but I doubt true liberals would have me given my thoughts on labor unions, parts of the immigration issue and personal responsibility. If liberal means using my brain from time to time and being an anti-neocon then pin the sticker on my forehead.
No, you don't have the choice in this country of anything but R's and D's but you have the ability to use your vote as a protest and even things out from time to time or encourage others to do so. You've repeatedly posted views that you're just fine with the majority of our government being in the hands of one party so don't give me this crap about voting for Truman, Eisenhower, etc. You could care less about where we go as long as your guys hold the key.
I have a situation where I've gotten to be friendly with a mayor of a nearby city. Had no clue what his party affiliation was. He seemed a true free spirit, intelligent, and a great sense of humor. We had some wonderful nights partying together. Recently this guy announced he's running as a Republican against a Democratic US House of Representatives member here in Arizona. I challenged Ron in a local newspaper to respond to his feelings on the Iraq war and he never wrote back. Because of this, I'm advising anyone in his district to vote against him to help ensure the incumbent stays in the seat and doesn't add to the Republican majority. I've probably killed the friendship and whatever political power it might have brought me but it's the right thing to do.
That said, we have another Republican congressman here named Jeff Flake who I'd vote for in a second if he were in my district. He bucks his own party and fights pork like it was an invading army. Get your party to put him up for President and I'll believe there's integrity left.
Now if the Dems ever get power and abuse that privilege, I'll be voting for Republicans to get back to balance. It's not pure and ideal but it's the only weapon we have.
Go back to your comic books Tom. It's a fantasy world you live in.
