Shlock and ahhhhhh

Here's what my impression would be were I an Iraqi citizen watching our spectacle: The Americans aren't man enough to just send in troops and fight the bad guys. They're more into sitting back in their plush chairs and letting machines do their fighting for them, not sending in fighters until after all the bad guys are dead.

Now I'm not saying it's poor stategy in a war to do that. It's been done throughout history where sides bombard one another with whatever long range weapons they had before they sent in the ground troops. I'm just saying that the average Iraqi citizen who has no cruise missiles or airplanes probably sees people gloating about "shock and awe" when the casualties are mounting only on one side as a pretty chickenshit way of fighting.

Let's remember that the bombings in WWII were accompanied and preceded by a whole lot of bloody hand to hand ground fighting in theaters throughout the globe. Different impression on folks when it's the first tactic used no matter what the noble intention might have been.
