Why yes, as a matter of fact, thanks for asking
Davin beat me to the punch in pointing out the myriad ways in which you've got it all wrong. Here's another one:
Moderation does not mean one needs to censor one's views, but your outburst certainly didn't help the community. Like it or not...a moderator has to be above the personal animosity evident in so many of the normal board confrontations
...
A moderator is in essence a diplomat, and even when they are not performing official duties, they don't throw out the decorum and become board brawlers.
Wrong. Seriously (and not even flaming here), a basic prerequisite for being a moderator is skill at participation in the BBS environment. Fact of the matter is, Techie, I think my skills as a moderator have declined somewhat over time because I've held back participating for, ironically enough, the very reason you're advocating. With the ascension of the four new moderators from within the community, I now have more opportunity to actually join in and participate, and get back into practice.
And please credit me with being human. It was the love of this environment and style of interaction that got me into it in the first place. It's simply unfair to expect me to give up what I love in order tp enhance the pleasure of others in doing it. What you're demanding is nothing less than that I be the HabitableZone's harem eunuch, SDAI-Tech1! I dunno about you, but that's not a duty I'm inclined to volunteer for.
