re: THE MOST CLEAR CUT CASE OF GIVING AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY IN RECENT MEMORY

You are talking apples and oranges. This wasn't a vote against general military spending. It was a vote against funding for a specific military operation WHILE IT WAS OCCURING. John McCain condemned his fellow republicans for their unbelievable actions at the time. It not only gave aid and comfort to the enemy, it potentially endangered the lives of our forces in the field. Name me one time Democrats have ever voted to cut off the funds for forces that were actually engaged in combat in the field?
