No The Old One Works Fine

It's like speeding. There's a level tolerated in a civil society out of respect for freedom of speech, but go overboard and you risk getting hauled in. You can aid and abet the enemy as the definition says as long as it's merely words and get away with it. Go beyond that to provide secret material or financial aid and you should be in court. Just as those who want to aid and abet the enemies of the US can use the cover of freedom speech can use it to their advantage others are free to call their acts what they are under the same protection. There's no reason they should escape public and political opinion costs just because they have no legal ones.

They can waffle and play bait and switch tactics like you see many display here, but it's pretty obvious who has the interests of the US at heart and who like to play to the image of te US as the big bad wolf. Disagreeing with Bush or any other president is not treason. I don't think anyone has claimed such, but you will see those feeling the sting of the accusations of treason prancing out legitimate gripes as bait and switch for the crap that I think Gary was really talking about.

Regards,
Mark
