Get out your dictionary, Robert and look at the definition of treason.
It's not going to be defined as a crime according a specific country's laws which has something to do with "disloyalty". Treason is a water boy pissing in the team's water.
Similar words are going to be betrayal and treachery.
Now, if the water boy is under the delusion that his pissing in the team's water is going help the team win the game, then you don't have a case of treason, but merely an idiot doing the kind of things that idiots are capable of doing. But you should still kick his ass.
