re: "scumbags...in the HabitableZone preaching treason..."

The sentence was: "Besides we've got scumbags here in the HabitableZone preaching treason against the United States so why is it unreasonable for an Iranian to preach treason against the mullahs?"

I think it's a fair guess to say that from the point of view of most soldiers in Iraq, they wouldn't find a lot of obvious support from posters at the Habitablezone. I think soldier fighting for our country deserve our support. I also think the Commander in Chief of the miltary also deserves our support.
I think the degree of this lack of support [esp in a time of war] is corresponding degree of betrayal- treason.
And also note that Gary says *preaching* treason. I think a statement like "We must bring our soldiers out of Iraq, now". Is an example of preaching treason. And would be a similar to a Iranian student saying the US should launch miltary attacks on Iran. And I think that is being overly generous to the "out of Iraq now" guy in comparison to the Iranian student.

[btw, I wrote the above eariler, and I just read Mark's post:

I believe Mark has expressed this general point better better than I did, particularly in regard to criticism expected and desirable even during time of war]
