re: THE MOST CLEAR CUT CASE OF GIVING AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY IN RECENT MEMORY

"When the Republican controlled Congress voted to withhold funding to the US military while it was engaged in a combat mission in Kosova.

Not once in the numerous times I have brought this outrage up has ONE right winger on this board condemned that dispicable and TREASONOUS action by Republican members of Congress."

Probably they don't respond, because it is just too damn silly.
First of all the Dems do this all the time and at higher percentage than Republicans. Second, it's in the constitution that congress decides these matters. The President can declare a war but congress can check this power by making funding decisions- therefore thereby adding a check to going to war.

The simple fact is the generally speaking Dems are weaker on defense spending than republican, but just because the bill is related to miltary spending, it doesn't mean the republican will always support it, they may want more miltary spending than the bill being voted on. Or the they might want other actions taken before the bill is passed. Etc.

And obviously Kosova was funded by the Republican controlled congress, and Clinton was not restrained because lack of congressional funding to conduct the war.
So Bucky is merely repeating another Dem talking point, which is so warped that Dems of course can and do vote against defense spending as a general principle, but somehow it's "dispicable and TREASONOUS" for Republicans to vote against a miltary spending bill. Finally within, say, in the last 50 years what year has the US miltary not been involved in combat missions?
